I am a world traveler who always comes home to Washington County, Texas. Over my lifetime, I have enjoyed a variety of careers which gave me satisfaction and understanding for the needs of others. I am a TAMU graduate with a dual degree in English and History. For the last 18 years I have been blessed to be a teacher for Brenham ISD. With the offer to help build a new real estate team, I feel it’s time to begin a new chapter in what has been a truly wonderful life. My mantra is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” So, I begin another chapter.
My family consists of Jay, my husband of nearly 48 years, my mother-in-law, and two fabulous daughters, Rebecca, who with her husband and son, lives in Caldwell while Rachel and her family live in the Beaumont area.
We moved to Washington County in 1981 as part of Getty Oil Corp. Having fallen in love with the area, we elected to stay in Washington County instead of transferring to New Mexico or Oklahoma.
Our daughter, Rebecca, a Broker Associate with CBPU, decided to form a real estate team and offered me the opportunity to join. She knows that I am planning to retire from BISD and feels that I am simply too young to stop working. Having purchased 5 homes previously, I had the experience of buying and selling property – but not as a real estate agent. Her offer gives me the chance to do for others what she has done for me.
Coldwell Banker has an excellent reputation! I have found that their offices invariably have the best qualified and caring agents who are willing to go the extra distance for their clients. Our team’s goal is to exceed our client’s expectations.
I worked in the Land and Legal Department of a small oil and gas production company processing exploration/production leases. Other experience has come in the form of purchasing and selling personal homes and ranch land.
I obtained my State of Texas real estate license in July this year. I am a member of the South Central Board of Realtors, the Texas Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. I also hold Teacher Certifications in English, English Language Arts, World History, Social Studies, and English as a Second Language. I have Advance Placement certifications through Rice University in English, History, and Microeconomics.

I am actively involved in my home church. I help arrange for students to attend conferences that will assist them in reaching their goals which includes taking students to Europe annually. I also maintain on-going relationships with former students as they progress through the universities of choice. In some cases, I do what I can to help them financially either through scholarships or simply putting the student in touch with others who can meet the financial need.
